paying attention

it was one of those mornings:

bright blue skies

yawning shafts of golden orange morning light

a heavy glistening frost of pure white lay outside

then i noticed how morning rays fingered the hanging quilt

i took pictures

this is what i found

We have also a more sure word of prophecy

whereunto ye do well

that ye take heed( or pay attention)

as unto a light that shineth in a dark place

until the day dawn,

and the day star arises in your hearts

2 Peter 1:19

a flash of scripture:

sure and poetic in my mind

as i load images on my pc

amazed that clicking away

at a frosted sleeping garden

would give me this unexpected gift of color:

rich cool blue  & vibrant aged orange

see that blue and orange sneaking out again?

the final surprise of forgotten images

a forgotten memory:

my oldest pleading we pull over the van

take pictures

pay attention

drink deep

she clicked and captured

smiled and feasted

taking sinking sunset pictures over a congested highway

till it was dark

today's gratitude love dare:

3 gifts that were surprises-unexpected grace!

(i think i just found them)

Here's to paying attention and receiving gifts
